Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 by Viña Santa Carolina among the top 3 wines of the world

Wine Enthusiast, the reputable American wine magazine, published its top 100 picks of 2018 in its “The Enthusiast 100” Ranking, bringing exciting news for the Chilean wine industry: Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 by Viña Santa Carolina was ranked third in this exclusive collection of wines produced by world-renowned wineries.

This is the highest position a Chilean wine has held in this influential ranking that every year celebrates the best wines in the world.

“We are exceedingly proud of this third place in a ranking that features the best wines in the world and also to be the first Chilean wine to make it to this list. “The Enthusiast 100” is one of the most influential rankings nowadays and this recognition inspires us not only to continue making outstanding wines, but also to respect our Chilean Heritage. Reserva de Familia are wines filled with history that reflect the spirit of Santa Carolina of honoring our heritage while moving on with current times, which is exalted by this accolade,” expressed Paola Korach, Marketing Director at Viña Santa Carolina.

Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is sourced from the Maipo valley and contains 5% of Cabernet Franc, which confers elegance and complexity to this bright ruby red wine. The nose is packed with intense red fruit, plum, blackcurrant, and nutmeg aromas. The palate offers sweet and structured tannins and a long, elegant finish.

A wine filled with history

Reserva de Familia is one of the most traditional ranges produced by Santa Carolina. Almost 130 years ago, it was the first Chilean wine ever to be awarded a gold medal in a blind tasting at Exposition Universelle, held in Paris in 1889, when the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated and France was commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Revolution. At that time, a Chilean wine participating or winning an international competition was something unheard of.

The current label is inspired by that precise event and reproduces the elegance and stateliness of the diploma presented to this wine in the Old Continent.

Reserva de Familia super premium wines are an essential part of Santa Carolina’s portfolio and have been produced uninterruptedly since its first international award.
